Why I started
The ADHD Biography

Going back to 2019 - I was working in Retail Management, a colleague of mine said "you've got ADHD" - my hasty response was a fruitful why of saying - 'no I haven't'.

That moment sparked a long period of curiosity, questioning & researching - and then the inevitable came, "it's been ADHD for all of this time".

I'd found the reason why I started multiple tasks before finishing the initial one, why I always left homework to the last minute when there was that pressure to finish it, why I struggled with consistency, why I moved from job to job.

In a nutshell - this is why I'd always felt.....different, like I didn't quite fit in.

From that realisation, I didn't know where to turn or who to talk to about this. There was no one I knew with ADHD, there was never awareness of it when I was a child or even into adulthood - it was simply a topic nobody, anywhere seemed to talk about. I felt alone.

And that is why, 6 years later - still waiting for the formal NHS diagnosis - I started the podcast.

So other ADHDers never have to feel alone like I did.

The ADHD Biography shares lived experiences of people living with ADHD & thriving....

......to show that YOU CAN find ways to manage & YOU CAN have the life that you strive for.

Thank you for taking the time to read the purpose of this podcast. I hope you enjoy the journey with me & my guests.

Best wishes,
John
